Friends of the Shade Tree is a local organization founded to financially support The Shade Tree Shelter in providing a safe refuge to physically abused and homeless women and children. The Shade Tree is the only 24-hour accessible shelter designed specifically to meet the needs of women and children in Southern Nevada. During the last year alone The Shade Tree provided over 80,000 nights of shelter, and the daytime shelter programs served an additional 17,000 plus women and children.

In the past nine years our organization has raised over $1 million dollars to help provide life changing services to the women and children of Shade Tree, promoting stability, dignity and self-reliance." ...A hand up, not a hand out. We were especially pleased to learn that all funds donated this year will be matched up to 2.5 million dollars, by a local philanthropic individual, one of many who attend our annual gala.
